World War II Veteran Dies While on Way to Dawn Service

John Atkinson, a 98-year-old World War II veteran, tragically died while making his way to a dawn service in South Australia. The beloved veteran, who had proudly served as a transport driver with the RAAF during the Pacific campaign, was looking forward to participating in the service and leading the local march. Unfortunately, he passed away at the scene after suffering a fall from his gopher.
