He revealed that he initially worked as a background dancer in ‘Dilliwali Girlfriend’ from ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ despite aspiring to become a casting director. Sharma recalled a poignant time when he had only Rs 20 and was worried about affording breakfast. However, a sudden job offer gave him hope and ultimately led to his successful career in Bollywood.
