WestJet has launched a new direct route connecting Calgary, Canada to Reykjavik, Iceland, strengthening its commitment to enhancing connectivity at YYC Calgary International Airport. The service, operated by WestJet’s 737 MAX fleet, will operate four times a week until October 13, 2024. With the addition of Iceland to its destinations, WestJet now offers seven transatlantic connections via its network this summer. The new route is part of WestJet’s growth strategy, expanding its network of convenient domestic connections to its global hub in Calgary, making its extensive European network easily accessible to Canadians nationwide. WestJet’s Reykjavik service offers seamless travel across both carriers’ networks through an interline agreement with Icelandair. Passengers enjoy the convenience of unified check-in and baggage handling, ensuring their belongings are checked through to their ultimate destination.
