In a demonstration expressing their dissatisfaction, a group of farmers from Tamil Nadu, including a woman, attempted to ascend a mobile tower at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Wednesday. This action was part of their ongoing protest against the inadequate prices offered for their crops and the urgent need to address river interlinking.
According to police officials, numerous Tamil Nadu farmers congregated at Jantar Mantar. Some of the protesters made attempts to climb nearby trees and ascend the mobile tower. In response, the police utilized a fire brigade crane to safely return one of the protesting farmers from the mobile tower back to the ground.
The farmers’ protest highlights their demand for improved agricultural policies, particularly regarding the pricing of their crops.
