Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicle Inspector’s Office Raided, Rs 1.46 Lakh Unaccounted Cash Seized

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted a raid at the office of a motor vehicle inspector in Tiruttani, Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. The raid, based on a tip-off, resulted in the seizure of Rs 1.46 lakh in unaccounted cash.

A DVAC team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ramachandra Murthy, conducted a thorough search of the MV inspector’s office located in Lashmipuram near Tiruttani. To ensure no one could leave the premises, the DVAC team locked the doors from inside. The team discovered the cash hidden in a garbage bin and scattered on the floor.

During the raid, the Motor Vehicle Inspector, Rajarajeshwari, her driver Prakash, and a middleman named Bharani were present in the office. The DVAC team also seized some documents from Bharani.

Following the seizure, the MV inspector, her driver, and the middleman have been directed to appear before the DVAC investigation officers for further inquiry. The investigation is ongoing, and the DVAC is likely to probe the source of the unaccounted cash and the potential involvement of any other individuals.
