Six of these Vande Bharat trains originate from Chennai, solidifying its position as a major hub for this service.
Among the services departing from Chennai, two trains operate permanently to Mysuru, departing at 5:50 am and 5:00 pm respectively. These trains reach Bengaluru in just four and a half hours and Mysuru within six and a half hours, making them a popular choice for passengers traveling to these destinations. The swift travel times have attracted both daily commuters and occasional travelers seeking efficient and comfortable travel options.
Chennai also serves as the starting point for other Vande Bharat services to destinations like Nagercoil, Coimbatore, Thirunelveli, and Vijayawada. Additionally, the Coimbatore—Bengaluru and Madurai—Bengaluru Vande Bharat trains pass through Tamil Nadu, further enhancing the state’s rail connectivity.
The schedules for trains heading to Nagercoil and Thirunelveli are particularly convenient for passengers traveling to the southern districts of Kerala, making the Vande Bharat a favored choice for cross-state travel. The Nagercoil-bound train reaches its destination at 1:50 pm, while the Thirunelveli service arrives at 10:40 pm, providing flexible travel options for passengers.
During the day, these trains make stops at key locations such as Thiruchirappally, Dindigul, and Madurai, facilitating quick access to renowned tourist and pilgrimage sites. From these stations, travelers can easily reach attractions like the Madurai Meenakshi Temple, Pazhani Murugan Temple, and popular tourist spots such as Kanyakumari and Kodaikanal. Furthermore, the Chennai – Vijayawada Vande Bharat train offers a direct route to the Tirupati temple, one of India’s most significant pilgrimage centers.
