Tampa Armed Robber Sentenced to Life in Prison
A man responsible for a string of armed robberies in Tampa has been convicted in federal court and sentenced to life behind bars. Richard Allen Randolph, 44, was found guilty of four armed robberies of Tampa businesses in 2020.
During a traffic stop by Collier County deputies in July 2021, another individual was found with a Beretta Pico pistol in their car. Forensic analysis revealed that this pistol was the same one used by Randolph in the armed robberies.
Investigators discovered that the individual had purchased the gun from Randolph, leading to his eventual arrest for the armed robberies. Randolph faces a minimum penalty of 100 years in federal prison and is scheduled for sentencing on July 30th.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office commends the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in bringing Randolph to justice. This conviction sends a strong message that armed robberies will not be tolerated and that those responsible will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
