While the cities and countries on Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour may change, one thing remains constant: the dazzling brilliance of her costumes. Known for her penchant for sparkling crystals and beads, fittingly named after her song “Bejeweled,” Swift consistently illuminates the stage with her glamorous attire. Many of these mesmerizing outfits are crafted by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, renowned for his intricate beadwork. During her August 16th performance at London’s Wembley Stadium, Swift debuted a new piece by Murad, showcasing his unparalleled craftsmanship.
Murad, who has already created three looks for the tour, unveiled a navy bodysuit adorned with silver stars and crescent moons. The design features a cascade of blue and silver beaded fringe at the hem, incorporating a staggering 15,000 crystal beads and 180 sparkling stars of various sizes. The intricate design required over 120 hours of labor, with the atelier’s artisans dedicating three weeks to its creation.
“For this piece, Taylor was envisioning a design that featured stars and the moon,” Murad explained regarding his latest creation. “It’s an iconic piece that perfectly embodies Taylor’s inspirations and my romantic style. It’s the best one yet. I’ve always designed powerful silhouettes, and they naturally translate well on stage.” Alongside custom looks by Versace and Elie Saab, Murad’s creations have become an integral part of the tour, adding another layer of sparkle to Swift’s already captivating performances.
