Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Shatters Spotify Record

Taylor Swift continues to break records, as her latest album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ has become the first album to surpass 300 million streams in a single day on Spotify.

The 31-track double album, released on Friday, also boasts the hit single ‘Fortnight’ featuring Post Malone. ‘Fortnight’ has also set a record as Spotify’s most-streamed song in a day. The melody was co-written by Swift, Malone, and Jack Antonoff.

Beyoncé previously held the record with her second installment of ‘Renaissance,’ ‘Cowboy Carter,’ which garnered 300.41 million on-demand official streams in its first full week of release.

According to a study by Casino.org, Santa Clara, California, has been crowned the ‘Swifty Capital’ of the United States. This designation signifies that Santa Clara has the highest per capita concentration of ‘Swifties’ in the country.
