TCS and BSNL Collaborate on Nationwide 4G Network Deployment
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has joined forces with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to establish a robust 4G network across the nation under the ambit of their substantial Rs 15,000-crore agreement. This partnership signifies a major advancement in bridging the digital divide and elevating mobile connectivity in India.
The project, spearheaded by TCS and BSNL, is multifaceted. TCS is actively setting up data centers across four zones within the country, while BSNL is meticulously laying the groundwork for the provision of 4G and 5G services in different regions. The project’s far-reaching impact will extend to over 1000 villages, empowering them with enhanced mobile connectivity. Additionally, the streamlined communication network being established by BSNL will significantly benefit district and tehsil offices.
The collaboration between these two telecommunications giants has garnered significant attention, resulting in orders totaling approximately Rs 19,000 crore for TCS, Tejas Networks, and ITI. These orders encompass the deployment of a 4G network that possesses the potential to be upgraded to 5G in the future, ensuring India’s preparedness for the next generation of wireless technology.
BSNL’s unwavering commitment to technological advancement is evident in its plans to roll out 4G services across the country by August of this year. This strategic move will further expand the reach of high-speed internet and mobile connectivity, transforming the digital landscape of India and empowering citizens with access to information, education, and economic opportunities.
