Ted Cruz (R-Texas) unleashed a scathing critique of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, labeling him a ‘one-man dictator.’ Cruz, currently seeking re-election, expressed his discontent with McConnell’s leadership style, stating, “He’s basically behaved as a one-man dictator. I don’t think we want a leader who does that.”
Cruz’s pointed remarks come on the heels of his condemnation of the Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC dedicated to securing a Republican majority in the Senate. Cruz accused the fund of providing “zero support” to his re-election bid against Democratic Rep. Colin Allred, despite the significant challenge posed by his opponent.
The Senate Leadership Fund has, however, focused its resources on other states with key Republican Senate pick-up opportunities, such as Pennsylvania, Montana, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
