At the tender age of 18, he has etched his name into the record books by becoming the youngest person to conquer all 14 of the world’s most formidable peaks, those exceeding 8,000 meters. His incredible feat was announced by Seven Summit Treks, the expedition organizer, via Instagram after he triumphantly reached the summit of Mount Shishapangma.

The organization shared the thrilling news: “Nima Rinji Sherpa, at the remarkable age of 18 years and 5 months, has made history by becoming the youngest person to summit all 14 of the world’s highest peaks over 8000m. Accompanied by his climbing partners Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, who also completed the 14x8000ers. Nima reached the summit of Mount Shishapangma (8,027m) early this morning at 6:05 am (China local time).”

Nima’s journey towards this monumental achievement began in September 2022 when he ascended Mount Manaslu, standing at 8,163 meters. The young climber patiently waited for permits from the Chinese authorities, which arrived in September 2024, paving the way for his record-setting attempt on Shishapangma. His relentless determination and unwavering spirit allowed him to conquer each peak in a remarkable span of two years and ten days.
