– A young man named Ali Kerio, the 17-year-old son of a Karachi District South sessions judge, was shot and killed by his close friend, Daniyal Nazeer Mir Bahar, the son of a retired Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), in a bizarre and tragic incident on February 8th.According to police, the incident occurred in Bahar’s house in Karachi’s upscale Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase V area. Bahar had invited his girlfriend, Shazia, to his house, where Kerio and his brother Ahmar were also present.
Bahar had ordered two zinger burgers for himself and Shazia, but Kerio allegedly consumed half of one of the burgers. This enraged Bahar, who seized his security guard’s assault rifle and opened fire on Kerio. Kerio was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way.
The investigating officer has concluded the inquiry and submitted a report to higher authorities, implicating Bahar in the crime. Bahar is currently in jail as the legal proceedings of the case continue.
