The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lauded the Union government’s significant investment in boosting tourism and wellness infrastructure within the state. On Friday, November 30th, 2024, the party publicly thanked the Modi government for allocating a substantial ₹141.84 crore towards two key projects: the Ramappa Region Sustainable Tourism Circuit and the Somasila Wellness & Spiritual Retreat in the Nallamala region.
The allocation includes ₹73.74 crore earmarked for the development of the Ramappa Region Sustainable Tourism Circuit. This project aims to enhance the visitor experience surrounding the magnificent Ramappa Temple, a site already on the path to achieving UNESCO World Heritage status, thanks in part to the efforts of the central government. This investment will likely involve infrastructure improvements, better accessibility, and initiatives to promote sustainable tourism practices, ensuring the preservation of this invaluable cultural site for generations to come. The BJP emphasized the Modi government’s proactive role in supporting the temple’s UNESCO bid, recognizing this as a crucial step in showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage to the world.
Furthermore, the Union government has also approved ₹68.10 crore for the Somasila Wellness & Spiritual Retreat in the Nallamala region.
