Ten Hag Faces Selection Headache Ahead of Manchester United’s Clash with Sheffield United

Erik ten Hag has a number of decisions to make ahead of naming his Manchester United team to face Sheffield United.

The bottom-club Blades are on the brink of relegation but will hope to become the latest team to shock the Red Devils, after their FA Cup close shave past Coventry last time out.

Casemiro started at centre-back at Wembley amid the absences of Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Willy Kambwala, Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans and Tyrell Malacia from United’s defence.

It is unclear if any of those players could return on Wednesday night, with Evans and Kambwala the only ones yet to be officially ruled out.

Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount were both missing from Ten Hag’s midfield on the weekend whereas Scott McTominay limped off after opening the scoring.

Marcus Rashford was another to pick up a knock to add his name to Anthony Martial’s in the list of concerns up front.

It leaves United with few options to revamp their stuttering starting line-up.

Amad Diallo is yet to ignite a serious stretch of form for the club while Antony struggled to make a positive impact at Wembley.
