Tennis Legends Sharapova, Bryan Brothers on Hall of Fame Ballot for 2025

The International Tennis Hall of Fame has announced its nominees for the class of 2025, with a trio of tennis legends leading the way. Maria Sharapova, a five-time Grand Slam singles champion, is on the ballot, alongside the iconic doubles duo of Mike and Bob Bryan. Also returning to the ballot is Daniel Nestor, a Canadian doubles star with an impressive 12 major doubles titles to his name.

Sharapova, who turned pro at just 14, is one of only 10 women to complete the career Grand Slam. Her first major triumph came at Wimbledon in 2004, when she was just 17 years old. She went on to win the French Open twice, the US Open in 2006, and the Australian Open in 2008. The Russian star also reached the No. 1 ranking in the WTA and spent a remarkable 408 weeks in the top 5.

The Bryan brothers, known for their exceptional teamwork and dominant doubles play, have accumulated an astonishing 16 major titles together. They also secured the 2012 Olympic gold medal and a record-breaking 438 weeks at the top of the doubles rankings. Mike Bryan holds the career record for Grand Slam doubles titles with 18, including two wins with Jack Sock while his twin brother was recovering from injury in 2018.

Nestor, a formidable doubles force, boasts eight doubles and four mixed doubles major titles, in addition to the Olympic gold medal he won in 2000. The class of 2025 will be officially announced in October, with the enshrinement ceremony taking place from August 21-23, 2025.
