According to the initial investigation by SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma, terrorists fired upon the passenger bus traveling from Shiv Khori to Katra, causing the driver to lose control and plunge the vehicle into a gorge.

President Murmu expressed anguish and stated that the act was a crime against humanity, while Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey questioned the government’s claims of eliminating terrorist activities after abrogating Article 370. Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai termed the attack cowardly and reprehensible, and Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina accused Pakistani terrorists of carrying out the audacious attack.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah expressed his unequivocal condemnation and noted the unfortunate return of militancy to previously cleared areas. BJP MP Kangana Ranaut strongly denounced the attack and prayed for the victims, while J&K BJP leader Kavinder Gupta expressed concern over the terrorists’ expansion of their gameplan beyond Kashmir.
