Terry Shaw to Step Down from Adventist HealthCare to Lead Health First

Terry Shaw, the President and CEO of Adventist HealthCare, a faith-based healthcare system headquartered in Maryland, will step down from his position on June 30th, 2023. Shaw will assume the role of President and CEO of Health First, a not-for-profit healthcare system based in Florida.

Under Shaw’s leadership over the past 13 years, Adventist HealthCare has achieved significant recognition for its leadership practices, quality and safety initiatives, trustworthiness, and workplace culture. The organization consists of six owned and managed hospitals, along with over 50 facilities offering a comprehensive range of healthcare services.

“Terry has been a tireless advocate for our mission, driving improvement and expanding our services to provide physical, mental and spiritual healing to every person, every time,” said Richard D. Wright, Chair of the Adventist HealthCare Board of Directors. “We are grateful for his achievements and the leadership system he established, which will continue to guide our delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to our community.”

Health First, founded in 1995, is a fully integrated healthcare system resulting from the merger of Cape Canaveral Hospital, Holmes Regional Medical Center, and Palm Bay Hospital. With over 10,000 associates, Health First offers four hospitals, a medical group, health plans, and various ancillary services.
