Tesla Cybertruck Becomes a Pizza Delivery Machine

The Tesla Cybertruck, known for its futuristic design and innovative features, has found a new and unexpected use case: a pizza food truck. Fabio Antonio Arbelaez, a seasoned pizza veteran with 25 years of experience, has transformed two Cybertrucks into mobile pizza ovens, turning heads and satisfying appetites across New York and New Jersey.

Arbelaez, a longtime partner with Columbia Inn Restaurant, a pizzeria in New Jersey, utilizes the Cybertruck’s spacious cargo bed to house a double-stacked roaster system that heats up to 600 degrees. The Cybertrucks are equipped with 240-volt outlets, powering the ovens and allowing them to cook a pizza in just two minutes. Each Cybertruck can produce 120 pizzas per hour, and the ovens can run for approximately eight hours, leaving enough driving range for deliveries.

The Cybertruck’s distinctive design has become a conversation starter. The pizza food trucks, sporting the name “The Jersey Thin Crust Pizza,” have drawn attention wherever they go, with Arbelaez, nicknamed “Mr. Tesla,” sharing that people are amazed by the vehicles’ unconventional use. The Cybertrucks even gained viral fame in August when they stopped by Barstool Sports’ Midtown office, where founder Dave Portnoy gave one of his signature “one bite” pizza reviews, awarding the pizzas an 8.7 out of 10.

Arbelaez’s innovative approach to pizza delivery highlights the Cybertruck’s versatility beyond its intended purpose. He’s even aiming to take the concept further by eventually automating deliveries, enabling customers to order pizzas that arrive at their doorsteps without a driver.

The Cybertruck’s success as a pizza delivery vehicle adds another layer to the vehicle’s growing popularity. Musk has touted the Cybertruck as Tesla’s most exceptional product, and the electric pickup truck has already seen remarkable sales, exceeding one million reservations and becoming the best-selling electric pickup truck in the US during the second quarter of 2023. The Cybertruck has also attracted celebrity interest, with names like Big Sean, Steve Aoki, Alexis Ohanian, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Pharrell Williams, and Justin Bieber all counted among its owners.

While the Cybertruck’s pizza food truck application is certainly unique, its potential uses seem limitless, showcasing the vehicle’s adaptability and its ability to disrupt traditional industries. As Tesla continues to refine the Cybertruck, its innovative spirit and unexpected use cases are likely to surprise and delight customers and consumers alike.
