Multiple posts on online forums have brought attention to the issue, with one post on the Cybertruck Owners Forum claiming that deliveries have been halted for a week due to a “new safety issue” discovered with the windshield wiper motor.
While Tesla has yet to comment publicly on the issue, customers have shared their experiences with the faulty wiper. Some have reported delays in their Cybertruck deliveries, while others have described various problems with the wiper functionality. One owner in Florida described a harrowing experience where the wiper failed to work during a rainstorm, forcing them to seek refuge and call roadside assistance. Another owner mentioned that their wiper hasn’t worked since purchasing the vehicle, and they are awaiting a service appointment to replace the motor.
This isn’t the first time the Cybertruck has faced production issues. In April, Tesla halted production temporarily to address an issue with the accelerator pedal cover, which could come loose and cause the pedal to jam, resulting in unintended acceleration. This issue led to a recall of nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks.
