Texas Car Crash Claims Indian Family, Leaving 14-Year-Old Son as Sole Survivor

A devastating car crash in Texas on August 14th has left a 14-year-old Indian boy, Adiryan Aravind, as the sole survivor, after claiming the lives of his parents and sister. The accident, which occurred near Lampass County, Texas, involved a vehicle driven by Arvind Mani, 45, his wife Pradeepa Arvind, 40, and their 17-year-old daughter Andril Arvind. They were on their way to Andril’s college when the collision took place.

According to local media reports, the police have described the crash as one of the worst in 26 years due to the severity of the damage and the number of fatalities. Initial investigations suggest that the car that hit the family was traveling at an estimated speed of 160 kilometers per hour (kmph), while the family’s car was moving at approximately 112 kmph. Police have stated that the impact was akin to the family’s car colliding with a concrete wall at 270 kmph.

Adiryan, who was not in the vehicle with his family at the time of the accident, is now left to rebuild his life without his parents and sister. A GoFundMe page created by a friend of the deceased family has garnered immense support, raising over $800,000, significantly exceeding the initial fundraising goal of $250,000. The campaign aims to provide financial aid to Adiryan for his future needs.

The Rouse High School, where Andril was a student, expressed their condolences in a letter to parents. The school community is mourning the loss of one of their own, a promising young student who was part of the Class of 2024.

This tragic accident has shaken the community and highlighted the importance of road safety. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and local authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the devastating collision. The outpouring of support for Adiryan from around the world serves as a testament to the compassion and empathy that humanity can offer in times of grief and hardship.
