Thai Lion Air has expanded its international network by launching a new route connecting Bangkok Don Mueang to Ahmedabad, India. The airline commenced operations on this route on August 15th, offering four weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
This new service marks Thai Lion Air’s entry into the Indian market, presenting a direct challenge to Thai AirAsia which already operates on this route. The airline’s expansion strategy also includes increasing its service frequency to Tokyo Narita from five to six times weekly, utilizing a new aircraft. These additional aircraft, expected to arrive in the latter half of 2024, will also facilitate the introduction of further international routes.
Thai Lion Air is a budget airline based in Thailand, operating in partnership with Thai associates and affiliated with Indonesia’s Lion Air. The airline’s expansion into India and its planned increase in service frequencies highlight its commitment to strengthening its international presence and offering travelers more convenient options for reaching various destinations across Asia.
