Adelaide International 2025 has kicked off its player announcements with a bang, confirming homegrown hero Thanasi Kokkinakis as the first star to grace the court. The tournament, a combined WTA 500 and ATP 250 event, will take place at The Drive from January 6-11, 2025, and will see 148 of the world’s best tennis players vying for victory in singles and doubles competitions.

Building on the success of the 2024 tournament, which saw a record-breaking 30,000 tickets sold and a massive turnout for Family Day, the Adelaide International is expanding its offerings. The Pinky Flat experience on Adelaide’s Riverbank will be bigger and better than ever, boasting live entertainment, a dedicated family zone, food trucks, and more.

Tickets for this premier international tennis event are now available for purchase through Ticketmaster, starting at the incredibly affordable price of $10. Children even get free entry to select sessions, giving them access to the family zone, exclusive bars, entertainment, food, drinks, and of course, world-class tennis.

This exciting event marks the beginning of a jam-packed sporting calendar for South Australia in 2025, which includes the Santos Tour Down Under’s 25th anniversary, LIV Golf Adelaide’s debut in February, and the third installment of the AFL Gather Round.

Minister for Tourism, Zoe Bettison, highlighted the Adelaide International’s importance to the state’s vibrant events calendar. “The Adelaide International offers sport lovers and event goers not just epic tennis action, but a true demonstration of why South Australia is known for putting on world-class events,” she said. “The lineup of star tennis players is off to a smashing start, with homegrown favourite Thanasi Kokkinakis locked in – and we know he’ll will bring the noise with his strong Aussie fan base.”

Bettison also emphasized the unique atmosphere of the tournament. “We continue to hear from players and fans alike that The Drive creates such a special atmosphere and experience, and I cannot wait to see the thousands of fans flock to the city for the tennis action again in January.”
