After World War II, London-based writer Juliet Ashton (Lily James) receives a letter from Dawsey Adams (Michiel Huisman), a resident of Guernsey, about a book they both own. This sparks a heartwarming correspondence between the two, during which Juliet learns about a unique book club formed during Guernsey’s German occupation. Intrigued by their story and inspired to write again, she decides to visit Guernsey and meet the “Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society” members, whose name holds a hidden meaning.
