In the trailer, Sauron (Charlie Vickers), taking on the guise of Annatar, also known as “The Lord of Gifts,” continues his manipulative efforts. He seeks to control Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards), the elf who crafted the three rings of power in season 1. Meanwhile, Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), noticeably adorned with one of the forged rings, grapples with the consequences of Sauron’s deception. As the conflict intensifies, Galadriel and Elrond (Robert Aramayo) prepare for an all-out war against an army of orcs within the forest.
The trailer also unveils a long-awaited moment: the live-action debut of Tom Bombadil (Rory Kinnear), a beloved character from Tolkien’s works. This appearance is sure to excite fans of the literary universe.
