During his tenure, The St. Regis Houston experienced significant improvements in revenue, operational efficiency, and associate satisfaction, earning the prestigious “Western Region Talent Leadership Award.” McDermott’s career began at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel in Canada, and he has since held leadership positions at renowned establishments including The Westin Calgary, The Westin Boston Waterfront, and The Westin Book Cadillac. He has also served as Director of Food & Beverage at The Westin Houston Memorial City, where the hotel hosted Super Bowl 51 and received the NFL Travel Hotel of the Year award in 2016. Continuing his impressive track record, McDermott oversaw a remarkable renovation and achieved outstanding operational scores as Director of Hotel Operations at the JW Marriott Houston by the Galleria, earning the NFL Travel Hotel of the Year award once again in 2019. Educated at City & Guild of London: Harlow College and East Hert’s College in England, McDermott holds a Culinary Arts & Hospitality Degree.
