The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is proud to unveil its newest luxury superyacht, Ilma, setting a new standard for maritime travel. Named after the Maltese word for “water,” Ilma signifies a significant expansion of the fleet, with its inaugural voyage embarking from Monte Carlo to Rome over seven nights, starting on September 2nd. As the leading provider of luxury hospitality at sea, the Collection continues to redefine ocean travel with this innovative addition, emphasizing both luxury and cutting-edge design.
Spanning 790 feet, Ilma accommodates 224 expansive suites, each featuring private terraces offering uninterrupted views of the ocean. The yacht’s carefully curated itineraries explore both renowned and secluded harbors, from the crystalline waters of Santorini and the upscale marinas of Porto Cervo to the historical tapestry of Valletta. After its Mediterranean season, Ilma will set course for the Caribbean, visiting lush locales like Virgin Gorda, the bustling port of Gustavia, and serene St. John. In 2025, Ilma will navigate the North and Baltic Seas, introducing guests to the vibrant cultures of Amsterdam, Stockholm, and Reykjavik.
Ilma prioritizes guest comfort, offering one of the most generous space-to-guest ratios in the industry. Its interiors, a collaborative effort between AD Associates and DPA, showcase meticulous craftsmanship and sophisticated design, while the exteriors, conceived by Helsinki’s Aivan, echo the elegance of private luxury yachts. The yacht’s architecture seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces, fostering a deeper connection between guests and the surrounding sea. The design subtly incorporates elements from Maltese myths and nature, employing a color palette that balances fresh neutrals with bold contrasts, enhancing the visual experience.
Ilma’s culinary journey is equally bespoke, featuring five distinct dining settings and a reimagined in-suite dining option. Guests can savor exquisite Italian dishes at Seta su Ilma, helmed by Chef Fabio Trabocchi, or experience the fusion of Peruvian and Pan-Latin flavors at The Beach House, conceptualized by Michael Mina and Chapi Chapo Design. Other dining experiences include Memorī, specializing in Pan-Asian cuisine; Mistral, offering Mediterranean selections; and Tides, which adapts its menu to reflect the regional tastes of the yacht’s destinations.
Ilma also introduces The Marina and Marina Terrace, redefining the connection between yacht and sea with expansive glass windows, floating side doors, and a hydraulic platform for sea access. The ship’s wellness offerings are extensive, featuring The Ritz-Carlton Spa with treatments from leading brands and multiple fitness options, ensuring that every guest can find their preferred form of relaxation or activity.
Ilma is more than just a means of travel; it is a destination in itself. Every suite, meal, and itinerary is carefully crafted to offer a transcendent voyage, epitomizing luxury at sea.
