In a review for Deadline, Stephanie Bunbury praised the film’s thrills, blood spills, and entertainment, as well as Lee’s irresistible screen presence.
The strong presales for The Roundup: Punishment are a positive sign for the Korean box office, which is coming off a record March thanks largely to the performance of smash horror pic Exhuma. Despite pockets of success since the start of the pandemic, the market had been sluggish in its comeback. The Roundup: Punishment will be a welcome addition to the Korean box office and is expected to perform well in the coming weeks.
