Now, it seems, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have embraced this iconic trio, opening their The Row presentation in Paris with looks that embody this nonchalant and unaffected style.
Of course, this is The Row, so while the fabrics may have been treated to appear rumpled and casual, rest assured that every piece is crafted from the most luxurious materials imaginable. Paired with the chic black ballet slippers that were a recurring feature throughout the show, the trio created a look that was as soft and comfortable as it was effortlessly stylish.
The Row’s minimalist aesthetic has become synonymous with “quiet luxury,” a term that has been bandied about for years. The label’s deeply considered and personal approach to fashion has earned its reputation, resonating with many in a way that traditional fashion often fails to do. But simply creating “good taste” minimalist clothing isn’t enough. All too often, it can fall into a bland anonymity.
This The Row collection, however, takes a distinct approach. Other times, a long-sleeved dress would be rigorously minimalist except for its scalloped neckline, or a sinuous black dress, worn by Eva Herzigova, would twist elegantly across the shoulders and bust.
Yet, the most sublime aspect of the collection was the spirit with which it was presented. The opening looks, with their relaxed simplicity, set the tone for the entire show.
