The White Lotus Season 3: Everything We Know So Far, From the Cast to the Location

Get ready for another round of luxurious vacations and biting social commentary as HBO’s critically acclaimed series, *The White Lotus*, returns for a third season. While we mourn the loss of Jennifer Coolidge’s hilariously deranged Tanya McQuoid (RIP, queen), the good news is that *The White Lotus* has pulled in another comedic powerhouse to fill the void: Parker Posey. Dubbed “queen of the indies” in the 90s, Posey has a knack for stealing scenes in movies and TV shows. If you’re not familiar, her cameo in *Will & Grace* as Dorleen, Jack’s boss at Barneys, is a must-watch.

Joining Posey in the third season will be a cast of familiar faces and fresh talent. We’ll see Michelle Monaghan (of *Mission Impossible* and *Made of Honour* fame), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy from *Harry Potter*), Leslie Bibb, Tayme Thapthimthong, Dom Hetrakul, and *The Gilded Age*’s Carrie Coon. Also joining the cast are *The Zone of Interest*’s Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Charlotte Le Bon, Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius, and *Sex Education*’s Aimee Lou Wood. Adding a touch of K-pop to the mix, Blackpink’s Lisa will be making her acting debut as an exuberant hotel employee. The final season wrapped filming in Thailand back in the summer.

The first two seasons of *The White Lotus* took place at Four Seasons hotels, so it was no surprise that fans began speculating that the third season would follow suit. The speculation proved true, with filming taking place at Four Seasons Koh Samui and Anantara Mai Khao Phuket, along with additional filming in Bangkok.

Before the second season even premiered, showrunner Mike White hinted at the possibility of an Asia-set third season, suggesting that it would focus on themes that the series hadn’t explored yet. “The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex,” he said in a behind-the-scenes video. “I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”

While the details of the plot are still under wraps, we do know that some familiar faces will be returning. Natasha Rothwell’s Belinda, the beleaguered spa manager from season one, is set to make a comeback. Will Tanya have left her a fortune in her will? Or has Belinda found another way to establish her business? And what about Greg (Jon Gries), who played a part in Tanya’s demise? Will he return to face the consequences of his actions?

As for the new characters, previous reports suggest the season’s affluent guests will include “a patriarch, a corporate executive, an actress, a couple of mothers, a misfit and a yogi.” We’re eager to see how these characters clash and connect as they navigate the complexities of life in paradise.

Back in November 2023, White revealed that the third season will be “a supersized White Lotus.” He hinted at an even longer, bigger, and crazier season, promising fans an experience that will be unlike anything they’ve seen before. With such a stacked cast, an exotic location, and a promise of biting social commentary, *The White Lotus* season three is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated TV events of 2025. Stay tuned for more news and updates as we get closer to the premiere date.
