CD Projekt Red’s official mod tools, known as REDkit, have made their debut on Steam for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This marks a significant milestone for the nine-year-old game, allowing players to unleash their creativity and customize their experience.
Paweł Sasko, a former quest designer on The Witcher 3 and now the associate game director for Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, expressed his excitement, stating that players can no longer complain about the lack of certain options because they now have the power to create them themselves.
One feature that has sparked particular interest is the possibility of romancing the Crones of Crookback Bog. While Geralt of Rivia could form close relationships with numerous characters throughout the game, these putrid pseudo demons were notably absent from the list of potential paramours.
Sasko’s post hinted at ongoing work on Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, adding to the anticipation surrounding the next chapter in the futuristic franchise. CD Projekt Red confirmed that the mod editor will remain exclusive to PC, despite the efforts of Bethesda to bring mod support to consoles.
The introduction of official mod tools is expected to breathe new life into The Witcher 3, which received enhanced versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2022. While no further official content is planned, the modding community will undoubtedly keep the game fresh and engaging for years to come.
