Thom Yorke Unveils Details of ‘Confidenza’ Soundtrack and Shares ‘Knife Edge’

Thom Yorke has announced the forthcoming ‘Confidenza’ soundtrack, composed for the Italian film of the same name. The soundtrack, which Yorke worked on with the London Contemporary Orchestra and a jazz ensemble featuring The Smile and Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner, will be released digitally on April 26th, with vinyl and CD releases set for July 12th. Alongside the announcement, Yorke has shared the first single from the record, ‘Knife Edge,’ which provides a taste of the atmospheric and evocative score. The full tracklisting for ‘Confidenza’ is as follows:

1. ‘The Big City’
2. ‘Knife Edge’
3. ‘Letting Down Gently’
4. ‘Secret Clarinet’
5. ‘In The Trees’
6. ‘Prize Giving’
7. ‘Four Ways In Time’
8. ‘Confidenza’
9. ‘Nosebleed Nuptials’
10. ‘Bunch Of Flowers’
11. ‘A Silent Scream’

‘Confidenza’ marks Yorke’s latest foray into film music, following his work on the soundtracks for ‘Suspiria,’ ‘Motherless Brooklyn,’ and ‘Children of Men.’ The film stars Elio Germano, Vittoria Puccini, and Isabella Ferrari, and centers around Pietro Vella, a teacher at a run-down Roman high school who gets romantically involved with a former student, Teresa. As their relationship unfolds, Teresa insists on sharing their deepest secrets, leading to unexpected consequences.

Yorke has previously expressed admiration for his Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood’s work on film scores. Greenwood recently announced ‘How To Disappear,’ a new photo book documenting his life with the band.
