Three Cousins Critically Injured in High-Speed Chase Crash, Families Seek Answers

The families of three cousins, critically injured in a high-speed police chase, are seeking answers and accountability from law enforcement. The crash, which occurred on August 31st in Voorhees Township, New Jersey, left Zachary MacBride (18), Jibril Rouag (21), and Nadia Rouag (18) with life-altering injuries.

The incident began when a stolen red Corvette, fleeing Voorhees Township Police, broadsided Zachary’s blue Honda Civic coupe on the 700 block of Haddonfield-Berlin Road. The impact was so severe that the engine block of the Honda was severed. All three cousins were transported to Cooper University Hospital, where they underwent surgeries for their injuries. Nadia Rouag remains hospitalized.

The MacBride and Rouag families, represented by attorneys at Grant & Eisenhofer, are raising concerns about the police pursuit that led to the crash. They question why the police engaged in a high-speed chase through a densely populated residential area and who authorized such risky tactics. They also seek clarity on whether the officers involved were adequately trained and supervised in the state’s strict guidelines for hot-pursuit chases.

Zachary, a first-year student at Rowan College and a volunteer firefighter in Medford, NJ, was driving with his cousins, who were visiting from San Francisco, California. Jibril, a senior at the University of California, Davis, and Nadia, a sophomore at the University of California, Irvine, were in New Jersey to comfort their ailing grandmother and spend the Labor Day weekend with family.

The cousins had spent the afternoon fishing before the accident, capturing happy memories, now tragically juxtaposed with the devastating consequences of the crash.

The legal team at Grant & Eisenhofer is committed to working with local and state authorities to thoroughly investigate the incident. They are also actively seeking any information from witnesses, including videos, photographs, or any details about the chase or the crash.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the legal team.

The families of Zachary MacBride, and Jibril and Nadia Rouag respectfully request that all press inquiries be directed to their legal team at Grant & Eisenhofer.
