We all crave a slice of cake, but the idea of baking one can seem daunting. But fear not, baking enthusiasts! You can now whip up a delicious Oreo cake using just three ingredients – a recipe that’s simple, foolproof, and utterly indulgent. The viral chef, known as fitwaffle on TikTok, shares this recipe, complete with a tempting cream-cheese frosting, making it the perfect weekend treat.
In the video, fitwaffle exclaims, “The Oreo cake is seriously to die for. You only need three ingredients for the cake, and it’s topped with the most amazing cream cheese frosting.” To start, separate the Oreos and crush them finely. Then, add a touch of baking powder (one-and-a-half teaspoons) and 380ml of room-temperature milk. Now, take the cream you separated from the Oreos and whisk it into the mixture until it becomes smooth. Pour this batter into a lined 8×8 tin and bake it for 20 to 25 minutes at 180C/160C Fan.
While the cake bakes, prepare the icing. Simply whisk together 45g of unsalted butter, 45g of softened cream cheese, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract until combined. Gradually add in about 125g of icing sugar. Once the cake has cooled, generously scoop the icing on top and smooth it out. For an extra chocolately crunch, sprinkle some Oreo crumbs over the frosting.
Fitwaffle describes the cake as “so moist” that it barely lasted a day in her house. If you’re looking for a quick and delicious cake, this recipe is definitely worth trying. Since its sharing on TikTok, the recipe has garnered over 70,000 likes, with many eager to try it out. After all, what could be more satisfying than a chocolatey treat?
One user commented, “Fantastic – give me fourteen of them right now.” Another added, “I tried this and it’s so good, but I did it without the cream.” A third enthused, “Looks delish. I need to make this.” And yet another commented, “Delicious, it looks so good. I want it now.”
The only slight criticism was that some pointed out, when counting the frosting, the recipe actually uses seven ingredients. However, for a simple cake without topping, the three-ingredient wonder remains a delicious choice.
