The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of Track 2 of the IndiaSkills 2024 Hospitality Competitions, which took place from April 27th to May 1st, 2024. This event holds great significance as a key component of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship’s IndiaSkills 2023-24 initiative, conducted in partnership with the National Skill Development Council (NSDC).

IndiaSkills 2024 serves as a crucial milestone on the path to the esteemed WorldSkills competition, often hailed as the “Olympics of Skills.” After a rigorous selection process involving assessments based on Multiple Choice Questions and practical competitions, eight finalists emerged from a pool of 194 exceptionally talented individuals. These finalists showcased their prowess across five major hospitality skill areas: Bakery, Cooking, Restaurant Services, Hotel Reception, and Patisserie & Confectionery.

Mr. Rajan Bahadur, CEO of THSC, expressed immense pride on behalf of THSC for conducting this event. “Witnessing firsthand the remarkable talent our nation possesses has been truly inspiring,” he remarked. “On behalf of the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to each participant for their exceptional performances during the competitions. Their hard work, perseverance, and sportsmanship have truly shone through, and we are incredibly proud.”

To provide a platform for these skilled professionals to showcase their expertise, the competitions were held at designated venues in New Delhi. The Institute of Bakery and Culinary Arts hosted competitions for Cooking, Bakery, and Patisserie & Confectionery, while Hotel Saket 27 hosted events for Hotel Reception and Restaurant Service skills. Adherence to Occupational Standards was strictly maintained across all skill categories during the competitions.

Participants demonstrated their capabilities with remarkable passion and dedication, leaving a lasting impression on the judging panels. The THSC eagerly anticipates utilizing the IndiaSkills platform to further cultivate and support the next generation of hospitality professionals in India.
