This decision comes in the wake of the passing of his grandfather, Silvio Santos, who died early Saturday morning, August 17th. Abravanel, who is also a producer and director of the show, will be replaced by actor Bernardo Berro for the performances on Saturday and Sunday.

Silvio Santos, the legendary Brazilian television personality and owner of the SBT network, was hospitalized at the Albert Einstein Hospital on August 1st. He had previously been treated at the hospital for H1N1 in July. Santos was 93 years old.
