## Tianjin Airlines Launches First Direct Flight Connecting Guiyang to Osaka, Boosting Tourism and Trade

Tianjin Airlines has made a significant stride in international connectivity by launching the very first direct flight linking Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province in Southwest China, to Osaka, Japan. This new route, commencing on November 29th, 2024, represents a major boost for tourism, cultural exchange, and business collaborations between the two regions. The inaugural flight marks a pivotal moment in expanding air travel options from Guizhou, previously underserved by direct international connections.

The thrice-weekly service utilizes an Airbus A320, offering a convenient and efficient travel experience. Flights depart from Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport (KWE) at 11:15 AM on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving at Kansai International Airport (KIX) at 4:00 PM (local time). The return flights depart Osaka at 5:15 PM, landing in Guiyang at 9:20 PM, with each leg taking approximately five hours. A Tianjin Airlines executive confirmed the flight duration, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to providing a seamless journey.

To enhance the overall travel experience and encourage tourism, Tianjin Airlines is offering a special complimentary pickup service from November 29th to December 28th. This valuable service provides transportation from Kansai International Airport to 24 districts within Osaka, significantly easing the transition for arriving passengers. This initiative reflects the airline’s dedication to ensuring visitor comfort and convenience.

The choice of Osaka is strategically significant. Known for its vibrant blend of traditional and modern culture, its rich culinary scene, and its numerous attractions, Osaka is a highly sought-after tourist destination. Furthermore, Japan’s relaxed visa policies, introduced in 2024, have significantly increased accessibility for international travelers, making this new route even more appealing.

This new route signifies Tianjin Airlines’ second international link from Guiyang, following the successful launch of a direct flight to Singapore on December 15th, which operates four weekly round-trips. This expansion underscores Tianjin Airlines’ commitment to fostering economic growth within Southwest China by expanding its international network and making the region more accessible to the global market. The airline currently serves three major cities in Guizhou – Guiyang, Zunyi, and Maotai – and connects the province with 21 key cities across China, including Sanya, Urumqi, Xi’an, and Tianjin.

According to a senior official at Tianjin Airlines, the airline envisions Guiyang as a crucial international aviation hub in Southwest China. The launch of this new route to Osaka represents a major step towards this ambitious goal, and the airline plans to continue expanding its international routes to provide enhanced air transportation options and exceptional travel experiences to the people of the region. This strategic move is expected to further boost tourism and economic development in both Guizhou and Japan.
