Ticketmaster Suffers Massive Data Breach: Personal Information of 560 Million Users Exposed

Ticketmaster has confirmed that it has suffered a major data breach, exposing the personal information of hundreds of millions of users. The breach reportedly includes names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, event details, ticket sales, order information, and partial payment card data. The stolen data is being sold on a hacker forum for $500,000.

The breach was first reported by the website Hackread, which claims to have spoken exclusively with the hacker group responsible for the attack. The group, known as ShinyHunters, claims to have stolen a total of 1.3TB of data from Ticketmaster’s servers.

Ticketmaster has not yet commented on the breach, but users are advised to change their passwords and monitor their financial accounts for suspicious activity.

This is the latest in a series of security incidents involving Ticketmaster. In January 2023, the company was fined $10 million for hacking rival company Songkick. In January 2021, Ticketmaster was forced to cancel the sale of tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour after a bot-driven attack overwhelmed its website.

The Ticketmaster data breach is a reminder of the importance of protecting your personal information online. Always use strong passwords and be wary of phishing attempts. If you believe your personal information has been compromised, contact your bank or credit card company immediately.
