Kamala Harris, the US Vice President, announced Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz as her running mate for the upcoming US Presidential elections on Tuesday evening in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Walz, the newly announced VP candidate, did not shy away from criticizing incumbent President Donald Trump, stating that Trump’s view of the world differs significantly from his own.
During a press conference on August 6, Walz asserted, “Donald Trump sees the world a little differently than us. First of all, he doesn’t know the first thing about service,” as reported by Reuters. He elaborated, “He doesn’t have time for it because he’s too busy serving himself…Trump weakens our economy to strengthen his own hand…And make no mistake, violent crime was up under Donald Trump. That’s not even counting the crimes he committed.”
Walz’s comments highlight a key theme of the upcoming election campaign, with the Democratic ticket focusing on criticizing Trump’s leadership and policies. The campaign promises to be highly contested, with both sides emphasizing their contrasting views on issues such as the economy, crime, and national security.
