The Timberwolves, who had previously lost nine consecutive meetings to the Suns, were looking to break their losing streak and take an early lead in the series. The Suns, on the other hand, were determined to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole.
The game started out evenly, with both teams trading baskets. The Suns, led by Kevin Durant’s 31 points, held a slim lead for much of the first half. However, the Timberwolves rallied late in the third quarter and took a 20-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
The Timberwolves continued to pour it on in the fourth quarter, eventually winning by a score of 120-95. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way for Minnesota with 28 points and 10 rebounds, while Anthony Edwards added 20 points and 5 assists.
The Timberwolves now lead the series 1-0 and will look to take a commanding 2-0 lead when the two teams meet again on Thursday night.
