In a tragic incident, a woman named Suman lost her life after being mowed down by a tipper truck on the busy Rahon road in Ludhiana. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, as Suman was riding her scooter to the market. The impact of the collision was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area, revealing that the tipper truck driver fled the scene, leaving the victim lying on the road.
Suman, a resident of Rahon Road, ran a grocery store in the area and was a mother of two young children. Her family and friends are deeply saddened by her sudden demise. The Tibba police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the unidentified truck driver and have launched a search operation to apprehend him.
This incident marks the fourth fatal accident involving tipper trucks in Ludhiana within the past five days. On Tuesday, a newlywed woman was killed in a similar incident near Vardhman Chowk at Chandigarh Road. Prior to that, an 18-year-old boy and a bike-borne man lost their lives in separate accidents involving tipper trucks at Chandigarh Road and Tajpur road, respectively.
The police are investigating these incidents thoroughly and have collected CCTV footage from the accident sites to identify the drivers responsible. The authorities have urged the public to exercise caution while driving and to report any reckless or negligent driving practices.
