The Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Mamata Banerjee, has raised serious allegations of EVM tampering against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bankura’s Raghunathpur constituency during Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha Election 2024. The party shared images on social media of EVMs with BJP tags, claiming to have found five such machines in the constituency. TMC has called for immediate corrective action against the saffron party and urged the Election Commission of India (EC) to investigate the matter thoroughly.
The allegations stem from concerns raised by Banerjee that the BJP was attempting to manipulate the elections through EVM tampering. TMC’s discovery of EVMs with BJP tags has further fueled these concerns and sparked a demand for transparency in the electoral process. The EC has been urged to take swift action to address the allegations and ensure the integrity of the elections.
