Television actor Gurucharan Singh, best known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has been reported missing since April 22 this year. The actor’s disappearance has sparked concern, and Delhi police sources suspect that he may have ‘planned’ his own exit and left Delhi deliberately.
According to police sources, Singh’s phone was found abandoned in the Palam area, which has hindered the investigation. CCTV footage obtained by the police shows Singh moving from one e-rickshaw to another, suggesting that he may have planned his disappearance and moved out of Delhi.
The actor was last seen on April 22 near the Delhi airport with a backpack, as per CCTV footage. He had left his home to take a flight to Mumbai but never arrived. Four days after his disappearance, his father reported him missing to the Delhi Police. An FIR under Section 365 (abduction) was lodged by the Delhi Police on April 27.
The investigation into Singh’s disappearance is ongoing, with a probe team formed and a joint commissioner of police overseeing the case. The police are examining CCTV footage and working to trace the actor’s movements.
Singh’s portrayal of the fun-loving character Sodhi in TMKOC garnered him popularity among the show’s viewers. His sudden disappearance has left his family, friends, and fans concerned and hoping for his safe return.
