Tom Cruise to Skydive into the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony: Rumours Swirl Around Star-Studded Event

The Paris Olympics closing ceremony is set to be a dazzling spectacle, with rumours circulating about a star-studded lineup that could include Tom Cruise, Phoenix, AIR, and even Taylor Swift. The event, titled ‘Records’, will take place on Sunday, August 11th at the Stade de France.

The closing ceremony promises a futuristic theme, depicting a ‘world where the Games have disappeared’. French sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra has expressed confidence that the ceremony will ‘dazzle the world’, highlighting a blend of ‘electro-pop’ and international stars.

Several sources, including French news outlet Le Parisien, report that Grammy winners Phoenix and electronic duo AIR will be performing. AIR, who are currently on tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 1998 debut album ‘Moon Safari’, are rumoured to be part of the two-hour spectacle.

Adding to the excitement, speculation is mounting about Taylor Swift’s potential involvement. Swift, who has already appeared in promotional videos supporting Team USA, is rumoured to be flying in from Vienna, where she will be performing from August 9th to 10th.

Other notable figures spotted in Paris include director Greta Gerwig, Michelle Yeoh, Ryan Gosling, and Eva Mendes. Leonardo DiCaprio has also been linked to the ceremony, although his participation remains unconfirmed.

While the French Olympics committee has remained tight-lipped about the closing ceremony, they have revealed that the Stade de France will be transformed into a gigantic concert hall, featuring hundreds of performers, dancers, and circus artists alongside the headlining acts.

One rumour that has been confirmed is the appearance of Tom Cruise. The action star is reportedly set to perform an elaborate stunt sequence, skydiving into the Stade de France during the Olympic flag handover to Los Angeles, the host city of the 2028 games.

According to TMZ, the stunt was filmed in March, with Cruise rappelling down the Stade de France in Paris, travelling by airplane to Los Angeles, and ultimately landing at the iconic Hollywood sign.

Cruise has been spotted in Paris during the Games, including at the women’s gymnastics qualifiers and swimming competitions. With the handover ceremony set to take place between Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and LA Mayor Karen Bass, the stage is set for a spectacular conclusion to the Paris Olympics.
