Like many others, I had several questions after reading about Tom Cruise’s reported public dance performance. Primarily, I was curious if the footage was accessible and whether this behavior was a common occurrence for the actor. It turns out that Cruise has indeed showcased his dance moves in public before, particularly during a date with actress Heather Locklear in the early 1980s.
In a 2013 episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Locklear recounted her evening out with Cruise. She revealed that they had auditioned for a project together and that Cruise lacked acquaintances in Los Angeles. Locklear and Cruise subsequently went out dancing, and according to Locklear, Cruise spontaneously launched into the same dance moves he famously performed in his underwear and while doing the splits in the movie “Risky Business.”
Locklear described feeling awkward during Cruise’s impromptu performance, unsure of how to react. She ultimately chose to sit down and observe. That evening marked their first and last outing together. It remains unknown whether Cruise still maintains contact with Locklear or sends her gifts.
