## Tomorrow.Building World Congress: Shaping the Future of Construction with Innovation
The construction sector is undergoing a dramatic transformation, driven by technological advancements that promise a more sustainable and efficient future. At the heart of this revolution lies the Tomorrow.Building World Congress, which recently concluded its second edition in Barcelona, Spain. From November 5 to 7, the event brought together leading innovation companies and prominent international speakers to explore the latest trends and innovations shaping the industry.
Under the slogan ‘Build better’, the congress showcased new ideas, projects, and construction systems that are key to planning, constructing, and rehabilitating buildings and urban infrastructures worldwide, all while adhering to sustainability criteria. The event, held at the Gran Via venue, was organized by Fira de Barcelona and featured a comprehensive program centered around the key challenges facing the sector: urban planning and landscaping, construction technology, design technology, decarbonized building, and sustainable transformation of buildings.

The congress drew over 100 experts who participated in over 30 sessions, sharing their insights and expertise on the future of construction. Notable speakers included Majora Carter, a renowned urban strategist known for her design of urban revitalization strategies, Melike Altinisik, the architect behind the new telecommunications tower in Istanbul, and Liselott Stenfeldt, R&D director at the urban research and design consultancy Gehl.

The event’s 2,000 square meter exhibition space showcased the latest innovations from industry giants such as BIOO, New Murabba, Roshn, Samsung C&T Corporation, and Siemens. These companies highlighted their cutting-edge developments, demonstrating their commitment to achieving more circular, efficient, and resilient construction. The event also provided a platform for digital startups in the construction sector (ConTech) and real estate management (PropTech) to showcase their innovative solutions in the Innovation Playground area.
A Collaborative Effort for Sustainable Construction
Tomorrow.Building World Congress received support from international associations such as Build Up, the official portal of the European Union for promoting energy efficiency in construction, and Women’s New European Bauhaus (WNEB). Spanish entities like the Spanish Construction Technology Platform (PTEC) and the Higher Council of Architects’ Associations of Spain (CSCAE) also played a key role in the success of the event.

Tomorrow.Building was part of the larger Smart City Expo World Congress 2024, the world’s largest event on cities and urban innovation. This year, the expo attracted over 1,100 exhibitors and representatives from 850 cities and 140 countries. Over three days, the events drew over 25,771 attendees from over 130 countries at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue.
