Junior Doctors End 40-Day Strike in West Bengal

After weeks of protests, junior doctors in West Bengal have finally called off their 40-day strike. The strike, which began in response to a tragic rape-murder incident at RG Kar hospital in Kolkata, will officially end on Friday. While emergency services will resume, OPD services will remain suspended for the time being.

UPSC Main Exam 2024 Underway

Over eight lakh aspiring civil servants are taking the UPSC Main examination today. This crucial exam, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, is the second step in the process to recruit candidates for various central services and posts. The exam is divided into two sessions. The morning session runs from 9 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon session takes place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ Kicks Off in Jharkhand

The BJP is gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand with the launch of their ‘Parivartan Yatra’ today. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will officially flag off the campaign, which aims to highlight the shortcomings of the current JMM-led government and promote the BJP’s vision for change. These yatras will cover approximately 5,400 kilometers across 81 assembly segments in 24 districts and will conclude on October 2. Water Cut in Parts of Delhi

Residents in certain parts of Delhi will face a 12-hour water supply disruption today, starting at 11 am. The Delhi Jal Board has announced the disruption, citing maintenance work as the reason. Affected areas include Civil Lines, Hindu Rao Hospital, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Pahar Ganj, Old and New Rajinder Nagar, Patel Nagar (East and West), Baljeet Nagar, Prem Nagar, Inderpuri, along with some cantonment areas and neighboring regions under NDMC and south Delhi.
