The renewed dedication between Tourism Seychelles and Emirates airline was formalized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai. The MoU was signed by Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ Senior Vice President Commercial – West Asia & Indian Ocean, and Sherin Francis, Principal Secretary of Seychelles Tourism Department. Minister Sylvestre Radegonde emphasized the importance of Emirates as a key partner, noting its significant market share and positive impact on Seychelles’ visibility and accessibility. He expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations that aim to use Emirates’ extensive network to further elevate Seychelles’ global tourism reputation.
Emirates reiterated its support for Tourism Seychelles, with Ahmed Khoory highlighting the airline’s long-standing relationship with the island nation since 2005. Khoory emphasized Emirates’ role in promoting Seychelles as a top leisure destination and its ongoing efforts to support the local tourism industry. He mentioned the airline’s double daily flights from Dubai to Seychelles, which provide seamless connectivity and are crucial for driving traffic to the island.
The renewed agreement covers a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing trade and tourism, including participation in trade shows, familiarization trips, exhibitions, and workshops. Emirates also committed to assisting travel agents and tour operators in key strategic markets, developing tailored holiday packages, providing marketing support, and organizing familiarization trips to showcase Seychelles. Tourism Seychelles Middle East showcased its offerings and strategic collaborations at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) held from May 6th to May 9th, 2024, in Dubai. Led by Minister Radegonde, the delegation emphasized Seychelles’ commitment to enhancing tourism partnerships and opportunities in the Middle East. The event featured engagements with various stakeholders, including distinguished destination management companies and renowned hotels.
Ambassador Gervais Moumou, Seychelles’ resident Ambassador in Abu Dhabi, added diplomatic support to the delegation. The event included the signing of two significant MoUs with industry partners, further strengthening Seychelles’ connectivity and promotion as a premier travel destination. The strengthened partnership between Tourism Seychelles and Emirates is expected to significantly boost tourism in Seychelles. By enhancing visibility, improving accessibility, and fostering strategic collaborations, Seychelles aims to attract more visitors, thereby contributing to the growth and prosperity of its tourism sector.
