Due to the upcoming Lok Sabha polls’ fifth phase scheduled for May 20, the Lucknow Police has issued a traffic advisory for May 19th. This advisory aims to regulate traffic flow and ensure smooth movement during the polling process.
As many as 695 candidates across six states and two Union territories of India will contest in this phase, with their fates determined by the votes cast on May 20th. Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, will participate in the polling along with 48 other constituencies.
The traffic advisory, dated May 18th, outlines the following restrictions effective on May 19th:
1. Traffic bound for the Bijnor underpass from the Bangalbazar intersection will be diverted via the Telibagh route.
2. Traffic heading to Smriti Upvan from the Power House intersection will be rerouted via the Piccadilly Barabirwa route.
3. Traffic approaching Smriti Upvan from the Bijnor underpass will be diverted via the Uttarethiya intersection or Shaheedpath mod, Kanpur road route.
4. Traffic from Aldico Mandir Tiraha to Smriti Upvan will be prohibited.
5. Traffic from Khazana Square, Chancellor Club, and Ramkatha Park Tiraha to Smriti Upvan will be restricted.
6. A no-parking zone will be enforced from the Pasi Qila intersection to the Smriti Upvan Plaza intersection.
The Lucknow Police urges the public to adhere to these restrictions and seek alternative routes during the specified time period. While the designated diversion routes are intended for regular traffic, ambulances and emergency services will be permitted to use the restricted routes in case of emergencies when no alternative path is available.
