Four Killed, 32 Injured in Sleeper Bus Accident on Agra-Lucknow Expressway
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the authorities to expedite relief efforts following the tragic accident that occurred on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Kannauj district. The incident took place near Piprauli village in the Thathiya police station area when a sleeper bus heading towards Delhi from Gorakhpur crossed the road divider and collided with a truck.
According to police reports, the bus was carrying passengers from Gorakhpur to Delhi. All injured individuals have been taken to Tirwa Medical College for treatment. The deceased’s bodies were sent for post-mortem examination after the necessary paperwork was completed.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sansar Singh, Circle Officer Priyanka Vajpayee, and a team from Thathia police station arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations along with UPEIDA personnel and ambulances. More than ten patients with serious injuries have been referred to Kanpur hospitals due to their critical condition.
Authorities, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, have expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased and assured them of all necessary support.
